About 18 months ago, I realized I wanted to serve people. I decided to enroll at the Adler Institute Certificate Program of Coaching. The Adler Institute is an International Learning Center that specializes in Professional Coaching utilizing the principles of Alfred Adler. There I was introduced to many inspirational and wonderful people who profoundly impacted my thinking and personal goals.

I had been introduced to Life Coaching a few years ago, but thought it was mostly restricted to the corporate world, helping executives of business move forward through goal-setting and support. My interest in coaching was more on the Life side. My vision was a more mainstream type of coaching. The world has changed; the average person is in need of support—physically, financially, emotionally, and spiritually—now more than ever. It was my goal to somehow serve this need with my new-found skills.

Shortly after enrolling at Adler, a fellow colleague suggested I call a non-profit program (PACT Youth Crime Reduction Program) that works with at-risk youth. Little did I know how much of a gift this suggestion would be! I did call them and began volunteering my services working with an amazing 17-year-old who had incurred some challenges in his life over the past several years. This was an amazing experience and provided me the final piece of my goal.

From here, my goal developed into building a wellness-based company whose products and projects provided funding for programs that give relief and assistance—along with the opportunity for new life—to those in need.  Combined with the vision of bringing industry and jobs back into Canada, my ideal company would be a program for growth and change for youth and individuals looking for a chance to redeem their lives, starting with a job.

I want to grow Iwearness to be successful enough to build a manufacturing and rehabilitation complex for at-risk youth and young adults. The Iwearness facility would provide a chance for re-establishment of dignity and self-esteem through jobs, the relief and opportunity for change through housing, reintegration through the development of life skills, good health and wellness, through spiritual mentoring, coaching and life supporting therapies.

So there it is, maybe 2 years, maybe 5 years down the line but we will get there. A purpose!
